About this site

This site works out what a cash register system costs a small business in Germany and Austria over three years. Prices come from the vendors’ public price pages, each with its source and the date we read it; what a page does not publish is missing and is not estimated. The obligations (TSE, receipts, the Austrian cash register obligation) are reported as facts from official sources: this is not legal or tax advice.

How we test and choose

We have not tested the cash register systems ourselves. We read the vendors’ price pages, record each price with its source and date and calculate only with what is written there. We re-check prices regularly; when a price changes, the calculator and the pages change. Offers are ordered by cost only, never by commission.
